We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching, professional activities, and service. The successful candidate will be expected to advance a program of research, teach undergraduate courses, mentor undergraduate and graduate student researchers, and perform professional service to the department and institution appropriate to their career stage. Preferred candidates will: 1) have a strong record of research excellence as demonstrated via peer-reviewed publications in public health or interdisciplinary journals 2) demonstrate evidence of the ability to teach public health coursework, particularly using student focused or student-centered approaches and 3) demonstrate interest in working with students from diverse backgrounds. We are specifically interested in scholars with expertise in one or more of the following areas: infectious disease global health policy implementation science evaluation and with a quantitative orientation. Our current search is therefore broad, and we seek a colleague with demonstrated excellence in research in any substantive public health area and the skills to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the same. The next stage in our growth includes the development and implementation of a stand-alone MPH program to meet the public health workforce needs in California’s Central Valley.
